finally...something to say!
Okay, I just sort of hit a lull and couldn't think of anything worth saying! But now I have good news...actually, two good newses! I'm healthy! And I got money from the European Commission!
I had my first doctor's appointment in three years a couple weeks ago to get a checkup (which they don't do here). But anyway, I had a breast exam and then got sent to take x-rays of my knees and leg and get my blood taken. So today was the results of everything. I'm healthy! Good cholesterol, heart rate, no strange lumps in my breasts, etc. However, I do have a knobby knee which looks a bit strange as my knee bends and then instead of going nice and straight down to my ankle, I have a big lump. But it's not anything weird, probably the result of a childhood accident (falling of bikes or when I fell on the rock outside our house and got that big scar) or just something that didn't grow right. It's bone and not tissue or anything weird. The doctor said I could talk to a surgeon about it and see if it should be removed; he said, 'I don't know how vain you are about it!' I told him it didn't really bother me as long as it's not harmful. So all round, good news! Half of the appointment was the doctor asking me about if we locked our doors in Canada (he just saw "Bowling for Columbine" and couldn't quite believe that Canadians feel safe like Michael Moore said. I told him that it's not true everywhere and especially in cities it's different, but generally yes, people feel quite safe.)
Then I finally found out today how much money I'm getting from the EC....€13.655 (CAD $20,952)! If I'm really honest I'm a very tiny bit disappointed because I was hoping for €20.000, but we got some money and €13.655 is still a big amount for us. So yeah (for me!) (picture me with a stupid grin on my face and clapping my palms together) see, I think you all need to use your imagination and picture these sort of things, rather than demanding photographic evidence. What has happened to the world today...we're all so dependent on technology?! You should take a moment and conceptualize this! ha! so there!
